What’s In A Name?

Marilyn’s Jam Session came to life 16 years ago out of Marilyn’s lifelong improvisatory approach to culinary endeavors. She first decided to focus on pepper jams which eventually included Jalapeño Swing, Hot Licks Jalapeño, Apricot Habañera, Czech It Out!, and Orange Up!. Soon afterward she tackled fruit jams which included Blueberry Riff, Rhubarb Gingerly, Blackberry Blues, and others. Relish that Zucchini and Wild Grape Catsup followed. Her jazz pianist husband, Scott (who describes himself as having a zero IQ in culinary arts), names many of her preserves!

She has also added a wide range of baked goods including six shortbread varieties (Cranberry Rosemary with Orange, Chocolate Cayenne with Sea Salt, etc.), Welsh cakes, doughnuts, cookies, granola, etc.

A final note: In the tradition of great jazz, the improvisation is ongoing. There is always a new jam, a new cookie, a new variation, a new something! Check back every now and then to find both tried and true favorites as well as new creations.
